Reportscam.com

I am not happy with the people at reportscam.com.

When I was doing my detective sleuthing on Wright Walker, I googled “wright walker scam” and found a link to a report on reportscam.com by a woman, Kate Wix, who lost more than $70k to him. And she didn’t file the report until July 16, 2018, which was about three weeks after I first met him! That makes me think that he went directly from winding up the scam with her to setting me up.

But herein lies the problem with reportscam.com. There is no way to contact any of the people who report scams—scams of all types—on this website. There is a contact form on the site’s contact page which I filled out and submitted five times, over the span of about a month, to try to get a message to Kate, or at least get them to ask her for me if she would let me contact her. Nothing. Nada. No response.

Here is what it says on their site:

Copyright © 2018. #ReportScam receives compensation from some of the companies featured on our site. #REPORTSCAM allows consumers to expose and discuss scammers online. We are not associated with the US government. Privacy Policy

It seems to me that “victims” should be able to communicate and compare notes, to see if others with experience with the same perpetrator, have information, that when pooled together, might lead to the apprehension, or at least, identification of the person. Isn’t that just common sense?

Don’t be fooled by the Discussion (7 Comments) tab. It’s actually for the entire site, not this singular report and the comments have nothing to do with Kate Wix’s report. Plus, the comments that are there are worthless.

As it turned out, I didn’t need to contact her (though I would have loved to). Just knowing she exists is enough. It is interesting though, that the phone numbers and email address she reported are not the same as those that I have; similar, but not the same.
