Fantasy Endings

When I finally realized the scenario Wright was telling me was complete fiction, I decided to write an ending to the story of the fictitious Wright Walker and me. Then, in my imagination, one ending expanded into various fantasies, just for fun.

The first fantasy ending is based what I thought might be real, in the beginning, and shares what I thought might be our future life together.

FANTASY ENDING #1

He talked of selling his house in Chicago and, with the money he was making in Bahrain (not to mention the Philippines money), buying a “big” house here in Medford. Of course, I had my eye on a house just around the corner, not so big, about 2600 sq. ft. but the kind of house I love. It was built the same year as mine, 1927. It sits higher up on the hill and has a view facing west, with a panoramic view of the valley. It’s really a nice property, designed by a noted regional architect of the time. It’s almost all original. It came on the market just a short time before I met him in 2018.

I was imagining how I would do some strategic remodeling. I still do. It’s still on the market. Now only…$497,000.

We were going to put in a pool. He said he likes pools. A pool would add to this property, I think. It would make it a little grander. The right pool. A classic pool in the right place.

You see… I’m still dreaming of that, just not with Wright Walker.

Another part of the fantasy was traveling. And having a fantastic man to go with. He asked me for my bucket list. [Here it is]. I never had any desire to go to Hawaii until him. After the Maui email (find it in the book: “You Warm My Heart” – 7/28/18 3:41 am), I wanted to go to Hawaii with him and even get married there.
I looked at wedding rings; I was imagining what kind of dress I would wear. Yes, it’s true. I did think these thoughts. I thought—other people have things like this happen in their lives, why not me? That was when I believed his story.

One other part of fantasy #1 was the idea that he and I would be in some sort of ministry. It was a strong enough suggestion that I felt compelled to turn the focus of my thinking back to Christianity, and ultimately a new relationship with Jesus. Hallelujah!

It turns out that this part of the fantasy is the important part. While the ministry was imagined*, my new relationship with Jesus is real. The most real thing in my life. He is my life.

*Maybe the ministry is to Wright, not with him…which is what I’ve been doing.
Thank you, Jesus.

FANTASY ENDING #2

It turns out that Wright really does love me, he really does look like “the cap man” and I’m living with him in Vienna. He has repented.

FANTASY ENDING #3

He finally gets free and comes here to me. I hear the knock. I open the door. It’s him. Not quite looking like George Mason but not unlike the “man with the golf cap.” (aka cap man)
I say “Hi,” with a smile.
He reaches out his hand…I clasp it. I feel a pull and suddenly—I’m in his arms and his lips are…

FANTASY ENDING #4

Wright recommits his life to the Lord. He decides to cooperate with the authorities and divulges names of higher-ups in the organization, in exchange for immunity. He is offered witness protection in the US. He accepts the offer, is relocated to a secret location, but leaves the program after one year. His whereabouts are unknown. Nothing has changed in that regard.

FANTASY ENDING #5

Try to imagine this scenario…a meeting between Wright Walker (MrX), George Mason and myself.

FANTASY ENDING #6

Wright (MrX) defects from the Hungarian Mafia (the scam perpetrators, whoever they are), repents and comes clean. He enlists me to help him write his exposé / biography. Working title: “My Life as a Romantic.” (What a hoot!)
